1.唾液的DNA是从口腔内颊细胞和白血球细胞中所获取。
白血球能够提供高品质的DNA。研究显示唾液DNA中有74%是来自白血球，使到唾液也能够提供犹如从血液中所能够提取到的高品质DNA并用于这类的DNA检测。
2.唾液DNA绝大多数为人体DNA，并非源自于细菌。
同为以上所述,唾液DNA源自于人体的白血球，虽然唾液中也存有细菌DNA，但是对于此项检测并无大碍。此项检测所使用的2毫升唾液采样，能够提供足够的人体DNA，并大幅度减低细菌DNA的影响。2毫升唾液采样中有大约11%的细菌DNA，这比起漱口采样的66%和细胞刷采样的88%更为准确。
3.DNA检测并不能取代常年健康检查。
